23 May 2018

Roltex values your privacy. Our handling of privacy therefore complies with national data protection legislation. For example, Roltex does not sell your personal data to third parties. In this privacy statement, we explain how Roltex further uses and protects your personal data.

What data do we collect and process?

Personal data is data that can directly or indirectly identify a person, such as your name, location data (IP address), e-mail address and telephone number. Roltex processes your personal data only in the context of its business relationship with the company you work for or perform work for.

CUSTOMERS, RELATIONS AND SUPPLIERS

Your personal data are processed by us for entering into and performing agreements in line with the products and services provided by Roltex and managing the resulting relationships, including carrying out activities aimed at increasing our customer base. The basis for this processing is Roltex's legitimate interest: processing personal data is necessary to fulfil the agreement entered into with you.

In doing so, we do not retain personal data for longer than necessary. After termination of the business agreement or relationship, personal data will be kept for up to seven years after termination of the agreement.

CONTACT FORM

The contact form allows you to ask us questions or make requests about Roltex's products and services. To do this, we use your name, (often business) e-mail address and (often business) telephone number, among other things. This information is necessary to process your question or comment. Your data will not be kept longer than necessary. The basis for this processing is Roltex's legitimate interest.

NEWSLETTER

Roltex keeps its customers up to date with the latest developments. In doing so, we act in full compliance with the requirements of the e-privacy directive. Some recipients of our online (update) newsletters receive them automatically, while others have actively signed up for them. All recipients of our newsletter are given the opportunity to indicate in advance that they prefer not to receive newsletters. Of course, every newsletter also contains an option to unsubscribe. You decide!

CAMERA SECURITY

On site, Roltex has a camera hanging. This camera hangs to protect our company property and to record any incidents. The camera images are kept for a maximum of four weeks, or until after an incident has been dealt with. The basis for processing camera security is Roltex's legitimate interest.

Other parties

We do not provide personal data to other companies or bodies, except when necessary for Roltex's services. Examples include suppliers to Roltex. In addition, Roltex has outsourced some ICT services to third parties.

In certain cases, we are obliged to provide your personal data to local authorities. If we share information with these other companies, they are not allowed to use the data for any other purpose and must keep it confidential, unless you give your own consent to the contrary.

Forwarding

If you choose to provide us with your personal data, in accordance with the law we may transfer that data (if necessary) to our affiliates or other external parties abroad, and from your country or jurisdiction to other countries or jurisdictions around the world. If there are any data transfers from the European Economic Area (EEA) to countries outside the EEA, Roltex will only do so if that country/company has complied with European regulations. In case there are any data transfers between the EU and the United States (US), this will only take place if the EU-US Privacy Shield Agreement is complied with.

Cookies

We use cookies on our Roltex websites. We do this to keep improving your user experience on our website, to gain more insight into our customers and their questions, and for example to gauge the success of commercial campaigns. You can read here what cookies we use, how we handle your information, who the (possible) recipients of this data are and how you can change or delete your data. Above all, it is important for you to know that Roltex always handles your online data as carefully as possible, never simply hands it over to third parties and we anonymise all data wherever possible.

WHAT IS A COOKIE?

A cookie is a simple small file sent with pages of the website (and/or Flash applications) and your browser (such as Internet Explorer, Chrome or Safari) stored on your computer's hard drive. The information stored therein can be sent back to our servers on your next visit. Cookies allow us to see that you are visiting us again. Cookies look like "normal" plain text files, and therefore cannot execute, damage or install anything themselves.

PLACING OF COOKIES

When you visit our website for the first time, we display a message explaining cookies. We ask your permission to place cookies. If you do not give permission, we will only place analytical cookies that do not affect your privacy. More information on enabling, disabling and deleting cookies can be found in the instructions and/or by using your browser's Help function. Disabling cookies may mean that some functions of our online services will no longer work.

ANALYTICAL COOKIES FROM GOOGLE AND GOOGLE ANALYTICS

Our website sets a cookie from Google, as part of its Analytics service. We use this service to see how our websites are performing and how many visits they attract. Google may provide this information to third parties if Google is legally required to do so, or to the extent that third parties process the information on Google's behalf. We have no influence on this. We have not allowed Google to use the information obtained through us for other Google services besides limited ad serving data through Google Adwords.

The information collected by Google is anonymised as much as possible. Your IP address is expressly not provided. The information is transferred to and stored by Google on servers in the US. Google states that it adheres to the Privacy Shield Principles and is affiliated to the Privacy Shield programme of the US Department of Commerce. This implies an adequate level of protection for the processing of any personal data. The Dutch Privacy Authority has written a guide on how to set up Google Analytics privacy-friendly. For Google's privacy policy, please refer to its site.

SOCIAL MEDIA (TRACKING) COOKIES

Our website includes buttons to promote or share web pages on social networks (we use Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Youtube and Instagram). The buttons work through pieces of code that come from the respective social media platforms themselves. Cookies are placed by means of this code. We have no influence on these. Such tracking cookies often store information about your surfing behaviour so that the social media channels can respond to this with advertisements.

Please read the privacy statements of the social media channels you use carefully (these change regularly) to read what they do with your (personal) data that they process via these cookies. LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook (Instagram) and Google state that they adhere to the Privacy Shield Principles and are affiliated with the Privacy Shield programme of the US Department of Commerce. This implies an adequate level of protection for the processing of any personal data.

We use a Facebook pixel on our websites, a form of tracking pixel. This cookie sees which products you view. This allows us to show you relevant ads on Facebook and optimise our products. Without these cookies, you might miss out on great promotions.

MARKETING COOKIES DOUBLECLICK

DoubleClick uses cookies to improve ads. Some common uses of cookies include targeting ads based on what is relevant to a user, improving reporting on campaign performance and avoiding displaying ads that the user has already seen.

Cookies themselves do not contain personally identifiable information. Depending on publisher and user settings, information associated with cookies used in advertisements may be added to the user's Google account.

Users who opt out of personalised ads in Google's ad settings will no longer receive personalised ads from Google.

Security

Personal data security is very important to us. We ensure that your data is adequately secured with us by taking appropriate measures.
