Success story

Puccini

"It was an exciting transition for us"
Italian Restaurant Puccini has been a household name in Maasmechelen for 25 years. Cafer Onem started serving there as a twenty-something and took over the business in 2012. In August 2022, he moved to brand new premises across the street. A good time to upgrade his POS system.

Cafer's leap to innovation

"I was very excited to let go of our familiar system," confesses Cafer. 'We were used to a certain way of working, but the materials were ten years old and I wanted more overview of the figures. Roltex advised us very well. They think along to the smallest detail and understand the processes we have to deal with. That gave us the confidence to take the step."

Real-time access to control information

Which products did you choose? Cafer: "Our new POS system, including handhelds that can be used for PIN payments, is linked to our administration. We have real-time access and can, for instance, compare this week's turnover with last week's, or break it down by day or product group. This information allows us to make new choices. Is Tuesday a down day? Then that becomes the rest day! Is pasta popular on Friday? Then we think about a pasta buffet. We are currently renovating an extra restaurant section at the back. In the figures, we will soon be able to see on which days it pays to open it."

Pre-programmed

"What I like is that the till is programmed in such a way that we don't forget anything in service. If you key in a bottle of Spa Blue, it asks how many glasses of water you want. It also lists all sauces, side dishes and cooking methods for meat. The options are very extensive. We also use the online booking system. That gives peace of mind. It used to look like a call centre here sometimes! We now have an answering machine referring to the form at peak times. At quiet times, of course, we are happy to speak to the customer."

"Roltex's systems ensure that the processes behind the scenes run smoothly," Cafer continues. "Can we have full attention for our guests. Only exciting thing I find is that we are completely dependent on the internet. The other day, the wifi went down. Then even the music was gone! And even though the wifi is not Roltex's responsibility, they were still able to help us. It's a nice feeling that they are so involved in thinking with us and can be reached."
